While some might not like the extra weight of the 4500 Series, when processing a flat/horizontal surface, the weight guarantees a perfectly even finish. When you have to bear down, you get tired or when you extend your reach, the amount you press down on the surface can change significantly. When all you have to do is guide the sander as it works for you, a more consistent finish is guaranteed.
